I had a peek in the hutch tonight before I put their safety board on and expected to see them all snuggled up in the sleeping end together, but oh no, none of that!

Molly was in the straw in the sleeping end on her own. Truffle was inside the little wooden house on her own. Bella was on top of the little wooden house in some hay, laying down and looking very comfortable, and Smudge was upstairs on the top level, again in some hay. They all looked relaxed and I thought to myself "are they there for the night then? Is that it?"

I wonder if they will all cuddle up together later on?

When Duke and Sully lived together they always slept separately, but you would find them together for little rests with each other :smitten: :smitten:
But when it was playtime and they'd get tired first thing they'd do would be get together, mind you Sully prefered the pillow to be wedged in on them and Duke prefered to have it away so you'd see this pillow doing the hiccups until they sorted out how they could both get what they wanted, used to make us laugh ;D ;D ;D :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

they don't snuggle up together, mine don't either, although sometimes they are close to eachother, guinea pigs like there own sleeping space.

I've been wondering whether or not both piggies use the large sleeping box in their hutch - it must be about 2ft x 18"x18" large. We've been putting the hot water bottle in the box at night and had assumed they would snuggle up together if it got cold.

This depends on the pigs, Guinea pigs tend not to snuggle together, they like their own sleeping space, this could still work though if the guinea pigs could lay either side of the hot water bottle,is there room for that? they would still get the warmth from it.
Not long now till the night time temperatures warm up so it won't be an issue for too much longer.
It might be an idea to put in a igloo or a cardboard box filled with hay somewhere else in the hutch, as most piggies will sleep seperatly, sometimes one might kick the other out of the sleeping compartment.

How cute! A piggie hot water bottle! I love that idea. One thing crosses my mind though, would they chew on it?

you can make barley bags instead, fill a cotton bag with pearl barley, sew up the end, and warm it in the microwave, probably better than a hot water bottle.works fab for us humans too.

my girls all 14 of them have one long run and igloos, each time they go to sleep day or night they cram into the igloos often leaving one of them empty they prefer to cram into the same one for some reason I often have to remove the igloos becasue they moan when someone walks over them inside of it daft mares

Mine don't either, Jessie likes sleeping in the waffle house lounging on her pillow and Petal like lying under the tea towel tent with her pillow but other times they will lie next to each other during the day :)

My guineas spend the day apart and the nights together. And when I say the days apart you won't find them far from each other. :)

my boys dont sit together or sleep together, yesterday i noticed them sitting on the ledge together but were at complete different ends, yet my girls love to cuddle up together, they eat sat next to each other, all 5 share a wooden hidey house, and when they nap during the day they all cuddle up its really cute!

We have a playbox filled with hay downstairs if one gets kicked out of the bedroom. :) There is plenty of room around the hot water bottle - it is the Snugglesafe make (I think that's the name) - we pop it in the microwave to warm it up then put it in its fleecy cover under some hay in the middle of the bedbox.
