Lol like I said I thought no more piggies after my baby. Callie was a special needs piggie. She also just was not compatible with any other piggie. Neutered males, spayed female, babies, elders, etc. she hated them all. She would get into a full out brawl (lumps of fur and limbs all flying lol.)
I seriously thought I was done with piggies for good this time. Until last night, I was very very upset and my mom mentioned maybe I could get another pair. I was about to tell her no but she cut me off and said SHE wanted more piggies. She told me if I didnt end up wanting the piggies and couldnt handle it she would take them and care for them. And that really opened my eyes a bit and gave me a bit of hope.

I went on Kijij(A local ad site in Canada) and saw these 2 babies in this cage(dont even get me started on the cage)
...Needless to say I'm picking them up this Friday lol. I'll post pictures of the babies below and their cage. Theyre both a year and a half and their names are Sugar and Spice (I might change that.) They'll have free range of my room(Callie had free range of the whole house but we recently got a shepard/heeler pup so thats no longer an option lol.) My room is still large enough though. I'm going to keep them in that cage at night but just take all the ramps out and get a new cage in a week or two. I still have all of Callies old things so I'm totally prepared. I think I'm already in love with these 2 girls.:love::love::love::drool::drool::drool::drool:

Gorgeous piggies, so glad you rescued them. That cage is appalling, the ramps are so steep, I can’t imagine how any piggie could get down them.

I’m so sick of web companies selling cages for a mix of pets I.e. rats, rabbits, hamster, gerbils and piggies. Why do they assume they all have the same needs and “a one cage fits all” attitude, terrible. I saw a 60 cm cage for a rabbit advertised on eBay the other day, it beggars belief 😡 it’s about time animal welfare groups/government looked into cage sizes and tried to push through a legal minimum standard, it makes me so sad

2days :oops: :hug:

Aw they are gorgeous  :luv::wub::love::drool::D
Do they realise they've fallen on their paws with you? :nod:
Sounds like they've waved goodbye to their old cage&can call it their fancy new hay rack ;)

Congratulations on your new babies, well done to your mum too :nod:
Xx

Thank you everyone! I'm absolutely terrified that in the mean time they'll fall and hurt themselves before i get them. But realistically theyve gone this long, i think theyll be okay for another day. Whats even worse about that cage is theres only 1 hut and 1 water bottle AND they have NO room to move at all. I cant wait until they settle in and can popcorn and do proper, safe zoomies. And from what the ad said.... i dont even think theyve ever had hay :no:. If it wasnt for finding these 2 babies i dont think i ever would have got more piggies but everything happens for a reason :)

Poor piggies so glad you are rescuing them but please prepare for some sleepless nights and vet bills! We picked up 1 free-ads piggy Theo who is perfect in every way, but then we got 2 obese piggy ladies who are lovely but were very fat and 1 had a badly healed broken leg... and our last free-ads piggy who arrived last week has ringworm and teeth issues and kind of made me want to cry/hide because she's unhappy and in quarantine and has a future of at least £500 worth of vet treatment coming up... you're doing a wonderful thing but you might need deep pockets and a lot of emotional resilience! Sounds like your mum will support you if things aren't perfect at first which is great though :)

Oh! I'm actually paying $60 for them and everything and they will get a vet check up right away! thank you for the heads up though! Thats really good to know!

There has to be a way for us to change this unsuitable cage ignorance. We all need to come together and stop it, ive always wanted to, but feel hopeless.
