Hello! I still look on gumtree for guinea pigs even though I already got my new pigs. I really want these 3 cuties and If I lived alone I would totally buy them! They are very cute! Unfortunatly I live with my parents and they are not crazy about even owning piggies. Can somebody slap me? I have no idea why I am thinking of getting more when I can barely afford these guys!
Anyway here are my imaginary piggies that I would LOVE to own!(sorry the pictures are tiny :( )

I WANT THEM SOOO BADLY! :D

I used to be like you @Gizi . My Dad never wanted any responsibility, so why on earth he had 4 kids I will never know. My mum was only interested in status, so we could have horses to keep up with her snobby friends.
When I got my own place I built a huge run with a solid roof, that was big enough to stand up in. And for 20 years I kept loads and loads of piggies. After my husband died I decided not to get any more, but people kept giving me them. So it took 10 years to get down to nothing, by which time the run was leaking and needed demolishing. I said I wasn't going to have any more, but, have now got two boys in a indoor hutch in the house.
When you have your own place and a job, and hopefully an understanding partner, you can have as many piggies as your want.

I want more, I have two hutches and only ones in use my first two boys werent adopted which now I know I wish I had... so maybe when I have a little more money ;) my parents honestly dont mind as long as I clean and care for them myself, they didn't think I would for Kinder and Buddy but 7months later I clean them!

I didn't know my passion for guiena pigs would grow so much and I hope to get more soon, Adoption is definitely the way forward though! I've seen loads of pairs at Rats!

Oh well your lucky... Maybe they will let me get more once I get a Job and pay for them myself....

try ask them to do choir work for money, dont tell them what you want the money for save up enough for a hutch and inital set up and purchase for your pigs, then try coax them into letting you get them!

Yes, my husband was only 43 he died of pancreatic cancer. He was a very fit bloke, and played a lot of sports, but he still died of cancer. I have 2 dogs, two cats and two guinea pigs. In the past I have kept, fancy rats, hamsters, chipmunks, ferrets, lots of piggies, rabbits and a few horses.

@Toffee so sorry to hear about your husband my mum is currently 43 and has had stage four melanoma for a year and about 5months going strong considering her life expectancy from prognosis was 6months. Cancer sucks, I'm so sorry.

Thats very sad :( Cancer is an awful thing! It takes away so many innocent lives! I'm very sorry

Oh @Franah I am so sorry to hear that. Yes, cancer suck! John got diagnoses in September 2005 and lived until May 2006. Pancreatic cancer is known as the silent killer as it was stage 4 before it caused any problems. He was playing golf up until a month before he died! Cancer treatments are improving all the time.

To toffee.I lost my hubby nearly five months ago from heart disease ,he was forty seven.I have ten piggies, hamsters, two dogs,a gerbil and seven rats.Although it is a struggle to pay for them now they keep me and the kids sane.Makes them laugh too.I am not replacing any that i lose now but the thought of reducing numbers is unthinkable. To the original poster think with your head not your heart.I was an animal hoarder at one point
so when i get the urge to take on more i talk to the members here as don't want to end up in the same situation. The thread i think is someone talk to me

@madguinealady So sorry to hear of your husband. John, my husband died over 8 years ago now, I never thought I would get through the first 6 months, never mind years - but I did, and it is amazing the resolve humans have. It took me years to reduce the amount down, although people did still give me them, and I could not refuse. In the end, it was the fact that the run was leaking and needed replacing that made me stop having any more. But, then I looked after some, and ended up with some more, although these are in the house - noshing at the side of me as I type. I have two dogs, two cats and now two piggies. I was going to have another cat, as I had the garden cat proofed to keep mine safe. But, piggies are more rewarding!

Animals keep us going. Their love is unconditional and they are always there for us.
