My guinea pig lost her cage mate last week, and coincidentally my local shelter had five guinea pigs available for adoption. I looked into get some friends for my girl since she’s been lonely. We took home two of the females from the family (the mother and her daughter) yesterday, and they’ve been chilling in my back-up cage, since i won’t be bonding them with my other girl until after their vet visit on Friday (just for a checkup to make sure theyre healthy and dont have..fleas or something). I dont really like their names lol. If i want to change them, do i have to do some sort of paperwork thingy since they have their names printed on the vet forms, or can I just start calling them different names? This is my first time adopting haha

Sorry for your loss. Regarding your new piggies - if you've already got them registered at the vets, just ring the vets and change their details to the new names!

I’m sorry for the loss of your piggy but in regards to your new piggies, just give the vet a call and tell them the new names you have chosen and they should change the names on the system there and then

Hi- I recently adopted 5 girls to add to my boy (neutered!) and changed some of their names as I preferred the ones I chose (and kept the ones I liked). They are your pigs and you can name them whatever you like. The vet can be updated as and when you get around to it. Most important thing is to enjoy your new arrivals! Congratulations xx
