I'm reading all these threads with interest, all my piggies are in fine health at the moment, so I'm just reading to gain more information. one thing puzzles me, how the heck do you get a urine sample from a piggy? Poop sample no problem but wee sample?

I want a list of your best ways to get a sample!

Cheers

Mandy

It is really easy.

I give ours lots of wet food (leaves that are very wet such as Parsley/celery leaves) then pop them in the cage without any floor covering so they are on plastic. Wait for them to wee, then suck the wee up using a 2ml syringe and put it in a water sample bottle.

Sometimes they wee quickly sometimes it can be a wait. Store the wee in the frdige till you take the sample to the vets.

Syringes and sample bottles can be bought from most chemists.

This is really helpful as we may need to get a sample from Johnny at some point. Lol at doglovinpiggylover.

i usually give some cucumber and a little water, then sit them in a cat litter tray and then its just a case of waiting, then use a syringe to suck it up
