As many of you know I have outside piggies. I get them out of the hutch as often as I can so that they can have a change of scenery and some exercise in the run. I was getting a bit concerned that the patio was a bit cold for their little feeties and tummies. So I put an old duvet down on top of the patio under the run this morning. This also means I no longer have to brush the patio down every night and disinfect it every few days with F10! As all I need to do is shake the duvet over the grass and shove it in the wash when needed. Here is a picture of it. I have taken the cover (another old duvet) off of the top so you can see what I mean better. They are all in there (honest!) They are just camera shy! If you look hard enough you can just see Dennis's white trousers in the snuggle sack.

Inpsired!.webp

Yes that is a good idea! Now they can enjoy the new area in comfort haha! I just bought a puppy pen for my pigs so they can have a safe area (they still free reign in my room of course lol) but at least in here (with waterproof base) They can stay out in the warm for long periods of time. :)

I thought of a puppy pen in the house for when its frosty outside but I think the sudden changes in temperature won't do them any good. They'll still have their cuddles inside but I'll make sure it's not for long. The hutch will be nice and warm with snugglesafes, snuggle sacks, fur lined hideys etc

Very inventive! I bet they love it :)

They were a bit unsure at first but once they had had a good sniff and few wees and poops they were fine! The duvet is now in the garage for the night to keep it dry before coming out again tomorrow. I'll put a pee pad under the brown hidey tomorrow as the duvet didn't wick very well and Velvet was soaked in wee tonight:vom:

Great idea. Pity you don't live closer, I'm having a clear out of the bedding I had for the double which I just got rid of from my piggy room.

good idea,i use towel on my run floor !i have a run similar to the one you have @Betsy ,but i had a difficult time catching my piggies to bring them back to there hutch !:)

I thought that might be the case with those stupid little doors in it so I just didn't zip tie one panel on the roof so all I do is just lower it down at hutch time. :D

It makes it sooo much easier to catch them! :DThey always seem to gather down the end you have zip tied together though. :hb: My cunning plan is to move the run so they are in the same place but you are not:bal:! Oh btw I zipped tied the doors shut just in case they opened up one day and I had an escapee! :yikes:
