I was not ready and I am lost..

My fifille... we just celebrated her fourth birthday... she was just fine early this morning for pellets and again in the early afternoon for veggies... then I go do running around and some food shopping and I came home and my sweet sweet girl was gone I have not heard her sneezing nor have I seen anything else seemingly off with her... I am devastated and my little girl is heart broken... Fluer (our remaining piggie) seems to be okay... she ate some hay and I gave her some lettuce as a little "I'm sorry for your lost"... my poor girls.... I am so lost and confused as to what happened to my poor Fifille... if anyone could shed some light I'd appreciate it...

I'm so sorry for your loss. Fifille was gorgeous and I'm sure she had an amazing life with you and her friend Fluer. Please don't blame yourself. Guinea pigs are really good at hiding illnesses, and will try really hard to act perfectly fine. Be gentle to yourself as you grieve.

I'm really sorry. Sometimes piggies just die without giving any previous signs that anything is wrong. I lost a 2.5 year old girl that way once.
It's really hard to accept, but there isn't anything you could have done to prevent this.
Please don't blame yourself!

Sorry to hear about this terrible shock. I have head of pigs dying very suddenly from things like a sudden heart attack in which case, she wouldn't have suffered or anything, just here one minutes and gone the next. It sounds like she was having a happy day and in a place she was comfortable and safe. Thinking of you and your family.
