I went shopping at 4am today (I couldn't sleep, alright) and they were reducing parts of the fruits and veggies aisle so I bought the boys a pack of watermelon fingers as a treat because they were needing to be eaten today anyway.

Came home, fed the watermelon to the boys. Blitzen got the idea and ate the watermelon. Comet looked at it, sniffed at it, then dumped it at his feet and ate hay instead. :xd:

No accounting for taste. I've never known a piggy not like watermelon. gave mine a cherry tomato each yesterday, and they were left in the bowls. Admittedly they were gone when I came home, but mine eventually eat everything out their bowl, even if they're not keen. Strange little creatures aren't they.

I think Comet decides what he will and won't eat every time he falls asleep and wakes up again, he's recently started eating coriander again so maybe watermelon got the boot instead? He does love his hay, though, lol.

I’ve given up trying to guess piggy logic, they aren’t very logical at the best of times lol. My two don’t like watermelon but love rockmelon/cantaloupe. I love watermelon so theres just more for me if they won’t eat it.

There is no logic where guinea pigs are concerned, awkward little critters. I'm sure my four send messages between the cages so they refuse the same veg that they really liked the day before, 'red pepper's the wrong shade of red today' or 'we've gone off M&S beans'.:hb: They feel they have to keep the slaves on their toes, after all they've got nothing else to do but shop for tempting piggie food.

"The parsley smells funny", "the cucumbers aren't cucumbery enough", "the strawberries are too sweet", "the leaves are pointing the wrong way round" (Comet's actually done that one more than once, the git).

I forgot the most important one!

"the snozzberries taste like snozzberries" :))

(I crack myself up)

Watermelon disappears very quickly with the pigs, the snails and the millipedes!

I must admit, mine do like the skins more! Well the pigs anyway, the millipedes go bonkers for the flesh!

I've tried them with honeydew once, they weren't fussed at all. I don't like Galia so it's never here lol

Never tried mine with melon but I did offer them coriander for the first time. Merab took one sniff and rejected it, Jemimah ate a piece, didn’t like it so a few minutes later she tried again but still didn’t like it. Keziah thinks it’s ok but parsley is better. However popcorn sticks are in favour again having been rejected for the last few weeks.

Mine were like that with coriander first of all now they love it! Weird!
