I might be taking our guinea pig boar to the vets in Chesterfield to be neutered but we need someone who can take him and pick him back up for us if my son's friend won't do it, I am willing to pay fuel costs.

Thanks in advance

Kerrie

Nah... already spoke to one of them about taking him to the one in Northampton, they said it was too far and suggested one's nearer... the problem is.. they are still too far due to non of us being able to drive.

I've already spoken to Kerrie via message & explained. The Piggy Train is a group of volunteers who donate their time & fuel to take piggies in need where they need to be for medical or rescue reasons. There is a very good vet within 25 miles but if you would like me to see if I could get a volunteer to take you & your piggy to the vets & back I could ask for that. I need to know how long the piggy would have to stay at the vets as if more than a couple of hours which I think it will be then there'd need to be 2 round trips done. Only other way would be by public transport or taxi :) x

Public transport is no good, it's 26 miles and I don't fancy stressing Cesaro out, not only that I did say that I suffer with social anxiety.. so not only is it no good for Cesaro, it's not good for me health wise.

My son is going to ask his friend, problem is, his friend is VERY unreliable regardless of giving him fuel costs.

I'll let you know when I find out more info @Stewybus - thanks :)

I'm not sure, I'm waiting on them to reply to my email then I can let you know, some only do surgery on week days.
i work at lunchtimes you see so i don't have much time after dropping the kids off in the morning before having to leave again for work.. but let me know if its a weekend & maybe i could help x

I will thanks @Stewybus I just want to give Cesaro a good life, both guinea's are on their own and both next to other guinea's but I still feel bad because I adopted them as a pair.

It often happens with boy piggies. The 4 of my rescue piggies that have been recently neutered are 2 pairs of brothers, so now 4 solo piggies looking for solo female piggies :) x

Doh :/ I thought trying to neuter Cesaro would work in his favour and then TRY and get a friend for TK, if that doesn't work then I think he'll end up being neutered as well.

It's far easier bonding male with female & they're less likely to fall out a few months later :) x

We haven't done too bad with the two bonds we've done, although Storm who is from the first pair is being very hormonal atm and harassing Snow, however Snow is strutting which seems to put Storm off? Big's and Jericho who are the older two we bonded are just plain nutters, Big's just tries it on, he used to do it with Sheamus (his previous cage mate) but Sheamus would have non of it and even bit Big's twice last year, I caught Jericho trying it on with Big's yesterday, so I just let them get on with it as they weren't chattering, or being aggressive. So it's easy to see why they fall out at certain ages.

Well I'll see how things go with Cesaro and if we aren't able to get TK a friend, neutering is another option, plus it means I don't have to adopt more piggies as we have 3 sows anyway who Cesaro has been chatting up from his cage lol.
