...that a certain somebody was determined not to get weighed this morning, and that meant a 20 minute argument between "this is important and if you sit still it will take 30 seconds" and "hahaha nope human".

Twenty minutes. Who said guinea pigs were easy pets again?

They are easy pets? I bet a pet shop assistant said that to sell one. Nah I think it depends on the piggie, one of mine is easy and the other one is a bit of a terror and a bit of a challenge sometimes but I wouldn't be without them lol.

Pretty much! It's funny because Blitzen will forever hate being handled, I get that...but he kept fighting to *not* be put down on the scales. Like seriously I'm letting go of you, you want me to let go of you...why are you fighting to stay on my shoulder?! Guinea pig logic at its finest.

Have you told him how important it is to be weighed, or is he not listening. Tried treats, lots of. Put him in one of those things they weigh babies in. The thingy with the expanding lift thingy how about going to the baby clinic, they'll do it.
But at the end of the day, he's just a little bug**r lol

Lol @Tiamolly123 my scales have a metal bowl...switch the scales on, make sure they read zero, pop piggy in, let the numbers settle, take piggy out! Blitzen just seems to take the bowl as a personal affront lol.

I say this like Comet behaves himself but he doesn't either...he likes to lean on the edge of the bowl to tip it over. But at least he'll actually sit in the bowl....although he's getting to be a right lump, 1.13kg this morning.

For some piggies I have had to place a high sided plastic container (or small pet carrier) on some flat digital scales to weigh them so they can't escape.

Silly piggies

What about a towel in there & lots of parsley. We have an enormous metal bowl. Like yours they still try to get out. I can cope with the piggies, you try to weigh a hamster, they will not keep still. Lol

If only, there's only one of me and I need a hand free at all times just to catch him lol. One hand for him, one hand for keeping the bowl relatively steady, one hand for writing down the numbers...wait, that can't be right, I don't have three hands lol. Magic, it's magic!

Least it's not like when we had to weigh Comet at the vet and he needed to go on the floor scales and seemed to think this was an invitation to explore the room...

My three just take their turn and sit patiently whilst I weigh them. ;)

Stanley says if you make it coriander, he'll consider your request. ;)

Can he wait til next week? I miiiiight have just fed the last of the coriander to the hooligans half an hour ago...

Have you tried a tunnel or a cardboard box with high sides? Just weigh once empty and once full. ;)

Nope, but I think I may have to find myself a small-ish box again. Thankfully I don't need to use the bowl I don't think, if I can find a box I should be able to use it to replace the bowl - just let the thing zero itself out first, then plonk piggy in box. Sorted! Saying that he's normally far better about these things, today was just one of _those_ days :mal:

I use a cardboard box too but Coco is getting so big now i'm afraid she will jump out of it so i always have to hover my hands over top of her just in case.

Took the two of them to the vet today for a nail clip...Comet behaved himself beautifully. Blitzen decided, once again, he was having none of it, and has a cut quick to show for it :/ I really can't blame the vet nurse to be honest, he decided to yank his paw out of the way at the worst possible moment.

Cheeky asbo sod ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
