Hi everyone :) with the heat wave we’ve had our vet told us to use ice packs wrapped in towels, however when we try this they start pulling the towels apart and seem to see it as a toy. I’ve tried burying it under hay too as recommended but nothing is working. I have them in a room with the fan on and curtains closed, they’re laying down a lot so I assume they’re warm. Any advice is welcome

Lots of cooling tips here. I find the best thing is damp towels round the room and curtains drawn. Ice packs round the outside of the cage would help lower the room temperature too. If they are outside piggies they need to go indoors into you coolest room until this heatwave is over, it's far too hot outside, even in the shade.

Thank you, they’re inside piggies luckily so that’s half the battle. I’ll put ice packs around the cage and damp towels around the room ❤️

Much cooler here today, we have a lovely cool breeze. Looks like rain clouds to the west of us so hopefully the grass will get watered later. Never thought I'd say we're running out of grass!

Lol I know the feeling! I’ve been praying for rain. In England we’re not used to this and I realise how much I miss it. Packs are outside around the cage, getting the towels now :)

I used ice packs and cake back to one having been punctured and subsequently leaking into the towel! 🙄 so next time (it’s now raining) I’ll be using frozen water bottles instead.
