I have just read that Guinea pig shopping list. And it says:

- Iceburg Lettuce (low nutrition, high water)

I've always given my guinea pigs that one. Because we have that in our salads and there is always some left which we give to my guinea pigs.

She is fine though when she eats it

But it's not doing her no good? :(
 
To be honest i'm not 100% sure. As I understand, iceburg lettuce is a bit like chocolate. They love it but it gives them no nutrition. I think it can upset their tummy's. OH gave my 2 lots of iceburg once because he didn't realise. Luckily it did them no harm.
 
I once gave mine iceberg lettuce ONCE - because I ran out of romaine and couldn't get any until the next day.It didn't harm my guys,but I would definatly not feed it to them often! There is no nutritional value in it.
 
I think one of the main reasons is its all water so has no nutritional value at all and can cause diarrah
