i've had one of those houses made of alphapha hay roofs and edible stuff (you know, the round ones) well, mines been roofless for a while,so i put it inside a cat sized snuggle tunnel, and they love it! one sits on the top and one underneath or two on the top! really cute!

Those Snack Shak houses are not actually good for pigs to eat, and aren't advisable to use.

I think its because they have honey on them. But I'm not sure as i only glanced at the package:)

alfalfa should not be fed to piggies to much, my trusty vet (whose vet to many others on here!) informed me when speaking about foods.

They are high in calcium and other things, and shoulod be only fed in moderation, and nearly avoided.

well,my roofs went by the time the piggies were 3months old and they're never attempted to eat the "bark", so i thought they were ok?

I was given one of these as pressie for my piggies a while back, and must confess that, after a quick look at the ingredients, never mind the smell, mine went straight in the bin!

They contain pine wood shavings, cassava starch, alfalfa, straw liquid mix (water, sodium alginate, potassium sorbate, propionic acid, honey, glycerin, propylene glycol), cotton thread, bamboo, straw, and paper cord.

Certainly not something that I would be happy to have left in the cage full time, but may be ok used in a free ranging set up whilst under supervision :)

I wouldn't use them for the same reasons above, I don't think they are all 'edible' as they claim to be, they contain so many things that piggies should avoid.
They really are just like any pet shop treat, awful for our pigs but made to seem super to us, and are marketed as such.
