Hiya, I have three girls in a 2x5 C&C at the moment with with a loft, and we are moving house and going to build our own wooden home for them, but am thinking of introducing a rescue neutered male at some point, I know there are slightly different ideals for boys and girls in terms of cage sizing, is 2x6 enough for the 4 of them or should I try to go wider/longer if I can? Unfortunately I don’t have the space for a nice L shaped one or anything but we have one long wall we could either try 2x7 or 3x6 or something? It won’t have a loft as it’s going to be handmade and I’m not sure I can manage that 😂, but would love to know what others do with mixed piggies! 🙏

Boars only need bigger cages if you are keeping a boar pair. As you can only have one boar, the sizing is the same as if they were all sows ie add one extra grid per piggy. So for four piggies (three sows and a boar) the cage size is a 2x6 - so measurements wise 7ft x 2ft. However, if you can go bigger than that, then do so.

Thank you! That’s really helpful ☺️ We’ve decided to go for a 3x6 and hope that gives them plenty of space ☺️

3 x 6 is a great size for four piggies.
Don't forget to post a photo once yo have the new set up made.
It's always interesting to see original home made cage set ups.
