What are the ideal weight ranges for piggies at different stages of their life?

At what age do they become mature adults?

Does neutering a boar affect his weight (only had intact boars before George)?

Last time Giz and Pip were weighed (early Jan) they were both around 1.1kg but I suspect they may have put weight on since.

George is 10 months and I haven't weighed him yet, but he is a big chunky boy so not concerned, but would like to know how much he should weigh.

Cherub is 4 months and weighs just about 700g, is this about right? She looks healthy and round, just she feels so light compared to the other three chubsters. :(|)

Your piggies have all very good weights for their ages.

The normal weight range is about 900-1400g, but piggies can weigh from less than 800g-1800g and still be healthy. Normally they reach their adult weight between 12-15 months old; after six months old, the weight gasin is starting to slow down. As far as I know, neutering does not affect the weight. My own neutered boar was weighing about 1250g - 1300g in his chubbiest times.

There are no fixed weight charts because the range in adult weight is so wide.

Just weighed my guys tonight, Ive never really known what is healthy,

Logan is 9 months old = 900g
Dexter is 7 months old = 850g

Sorry to hijack the thread but does that seem ok?

My Frazzle is 8 months and over 1kg so it sounds about right! Fraz is just a bit lump of hair though..
