Hi, just wondering, George is 1100 grams is that an ok weight for a 2 year old boar ? ty, Alan

Yeh, i think so...
Bubbleberry is about that and shes 6ish year old sow.
It all depends on how big he is O0

Rikkyboy weighed in at 1.3kg just before he passed away and he had lost some weight.
Shaun is about the same.
Joey, who is poorly, weighs in at 0.8 kg .... ::)
I haven't weighed my others recently, so out of curiosty I will later and let you know.

I've got several adult sows and boars here, all healthy weighing anywhere between 900g and 1300g - so anywhere in between those weights is fine. It's really a matter of their weight remaining constant over a period of time.

All my pigs (resident and resuce) are weighed each week, same day and roughly the same time. I make a note of it on their chart and then it's easy to see if there is any change. It is normal for it to fluctuate a little up and down but it's a really useful thing to do as it's a good indicator if anything is wrong.

In general terms the boars are often heavier than sows although I have some pretty hefty girls here ;D
