Hi,

As we are getting towards spring and the warmer weather I am needing ideas on how to attach a run with some sort of roof protection to a wooden playhouse for my piigies on the patio so during the summer they have free run from their house to the run.

I have thought about drilling a hole in the side and then attaching a run and butting it up to the wall of the side but I havent got the tools to do this.

The house has a door atthe front so its thinking of a way of adding the run possibly to the front.

If anyone has any pics of an attached run to either a playhouse or a hutch Id be interested in seeing it thanks:))

Hey I would be interested to read this too as we bought a double hutch with a supposedly run extension only thing is it doesn't fit the hutch! Grrrrr so we are looking at ways of maybe attaching a tunnel from the hutch to the run

I know about these they are tunnels you can attach to hutch then to a run, if that helps:) My playhouse doesnt have bars so its no good for me.

I can think of various ways to do it but first lots of questions!

...but I havent got the tools to do this...

What tools do you have? I'm not sure there's a way to do it (that would be secure) without any tools!

What size/shape/type of run are you wanting to get?

Do you not need access to the inside of the house when the run's attached?

Also, can you post a picture of the playhouse (ideally in position in your garden)? It would make it easier to offer suggestions. :)

Those run around kits are nice and fancy but for the sake of joining a hutch and run I'd be more inclined to pick up some piping and other bits and pieces from a hardware store, it'd be cheaper.

Or if you knew of any local housing developments or somewhere where they're putting in new drainage, they might have some offcuts that they could give you. When mine go out in their run they have some offcuts of waste pipes to play in

Thanks lily that's a great website! Had no idea they existed! Is this no good for you?

Hi,

I'm looking in to getting a 'Runaround' set up from the website mentioned.

Has anyone got any pics or considerations they can share to give me inspiration for a set up?

It will be a fairly simple hutch to run one.

This is my runaround set-up, just completed this week! The pipe, connections and 2 doors cost £75, which I didn't think was too bad. I was keen on the runaround as it supplied the clips to ensure the connection was secure, and also a way to close off the pipe at night, to stop any hunting animals getting in.

I love your set up, were thinking of doing this with ours. I'm a llttle bit worried it may not be fox proof though.
