Ideas needed

I am currently on the sick, and I want to give my boys something to play with. The only thing stopping me, is cash. What household things can I use to give the boys something to play with which won't cost too much.

Currently, they have a printless box to demolish, hide in and throw around and they LOVE it!

Toilet paper and kitchen roll tubes filled with hay. My piggies love trying to get the hay out and then chew the cardboard afterwards

Go to a local carpet shop and they will give you the tubes free from inside rolls of carpets. They are the perfect size for piggies to run through and hide in and also great for stuffing with hay as well. Harmless for them to chew.
They are usually massive tubes, but they will easily cut down into useable lengths.

Collect toilet roll holders (with toilet roll off) and stuff them with some hay!
This is what I do with Dexter and Splat and they love it!

Mine love old socks. Cut a bit of the toe out, stuff with hay down the top, then hang from the top of cage or hutch, they love reaching up to pull the hay out. xx

Thanks for this idea! I live above a carpet shop and it would be SO much cheaper to be able to get them off the carpet people than to by Chubes every few weeks! Will go and bug them tomorrow!

Boxes of all different sizes

Wine boxes are a favourite, the can be slept in and jumped on. Small boxes (and tissue boxes) can be filled with hay and other treats and bigger boxes can have holes cut in the sides to make a play fort (or something like that )

I am currently using cat food boxes as play things for the piggles floor time! Scruff fits in perfectly for a nap!

My boys love newspaper screwed up with nice treats inside - hay, red pepper, parsley, apple etc. They go mad ripping the newspaper to shreds to get to the food!

i use toilet roll holders for my three piggies only sommetimes cause they have more fun with something thats not there all the time! i also have a hamster called cosmo he loves using the tubes from wrapping paper as a tunnel!
