hi,
i was wondering if anybody has come up with an idea on ingredients to make a guinea pig friendly cake! i know it sounds wiered (excuse the spellings:)) but i was thinking about it with christmas coming up and thought: hey, i know why dont i make a guinea pig friendly christmas cake! i looked on websites but it just came up with a cake made into a guinea pig - so a cake for humans that looks like a guinea pig.(if that makes any sense)
then i thought about treats - say christmas cookies for guinea pigs. i have made little cookies for them before(not that they liked them :p) but what would make them christmassy?
i know it may seem wiered!!
any ideas??

^ I love the look of these! They do contain some wholemeal flour, which is a debatable thing for piggies, but it's pretty far down the (short) ingredient list I really doubt that they would do any harm as a treat! Mine have had pet shop treats with flour in before; it just can't be a regular thing. But a pack of apple & alfalfa and another pack of beetroot & rosehip? Very festive colours!

If you want to eliminate flour entirely, I would suggest something with some oats or bran, held together with mashed banana or maybe some kind of veggie puree. I know some people have spoon-fed organic baby food to their pigs when they're sick, so you could use that. (I make some healthy 'pancakes' for myself sometimes that involve nothing more than a mashed banana, a handful of oats, and an egg. If you could figure out a binder other than egg, you'd be piggie-friendly. In small doses, that is! Oats are calorie-heavy and too much banana can lead to constipation.)

The general feedback I see on this kind of experiment is that cakes/cookies made without the usual ingredients (egg, flour, etc.) crumble really easily, but I'm sure your piggies wouldn't mind. :)
