i dont know where to post this but i have 5 gpigs i did only have 2 but i had them for xmas and the one was pregnant i didnt know untill 2 little cutie poped out on 1st feb well the one is male and one is female (babies) the male will be going to my mate when he is 6 weeks old see how he gets on.
well i have the mam and babies in the meduim size cage and the other female in a cage on her own and the other young one thats 7 weeks old in with mam *** nibbles the other female was being to heavy with the babies and they didnt like it and mam was telling her off. they go out in the garden when its dry out and i get them out on the bed alot to play with them.. i seem some fab cages on here but atm i cant go spending yet *** I'm getting my two male bunnies neutured friday. but what are they floor lined with? and where did peoploe get them small wire cages from? pictures would be great, I'm hoping to move into a apartment but if i can get something as fab as that for now in the room i got i can always make it bigger when they get a room to they selfs in the new place.

(sorry is i was kicked out of my house problems with family and living in a council house with my fiance and his mam and sister so the space i got isnt the best)

We use Correx to line our cages.

Have you separated the boy from the mum yet? How old is the boy? If he is older than 3 weeks he needs separated!

he will be 4 weeks this monday so ill tajke him out then he is still tiny conpared to the little girl and i was told to take him out 4weeks no later than that *** he can breed so he will be going into the smaller cage and the other female can then go back.

Has your friend that is taking the male got any other guinea pigs? Just that they don't like to be alone x

Babies can breed at 3 weeks....

We use correx as a base because our cages are made and it makes it easier to clean.

http://www.teacratepackaging.co.uk/correx-board-p-88.html this is what we use, when checking in type in discount guinea it will give you a further 10% off.

We also used grids from costco... they are £9 if you know anyone with a card, if not ebay or amazon you can get them from too.

this my cage... I used 3 sets of grids(have some left over)... I use fleece as a bedding.(3 piggies stay here)

The bottom is 4 x3.... I believe 4 is the maximum that can stay in that space, then they have a 1 x 3 hay loft, I just added that to give them more room, it's not necessary!

I find sawdust messy and it has also been linked to breathing difficulties so I don't use it personally, I find fleece is a god send so cheap...

I currently use puppy pads under my fleece which is working out costly, alternatively you can use towels and newspaper.

I am currently in the process of getting washable inco pads so will no longer need the puppy pads.

and i got two small cages for the other atm.

As the others have said, the boar should come out now, don't wait until 4 weeks or the baby girl could be pregnant by her brother... or I'd remove him even sooner if he was rumbling (had them doing that at 2.5 weeks here!).

i hope not ..

Correx is plastic. We use it as bottom lining for the grid cube cages you may have seen on here.

Many on here use fleece, which is available cheaply in many places, from market stalls to supermarkets (baby section) to primark. Underneath we have first a layer of newspaper and then cheap towels and/or vetbed - again available in many places.

You need to wash the fleece a couple of times before use and never use softener as that will seal the surface and cause the piggies to sit in their own wee.

WE use trays for the hay, so it doesn't get all over the place, but the piggies can have access to it all the time, as hay should make the biggest part of their diet.

Please make sure that your boy is not alone. If you are not 100% happy about his new home, it may be better to contact your closest rescue. There he can be bonded with an older boar who will "daddy" him. They'll only go to a good home after a home check. Here is a list of rescues: http://www.guineapigrehome.org.uk/gp/centres.asp

He should be eating and drinking from a bottle by himself - pop him on the scales now so you can keep an eye on his weight :) and make sure he's getting enough once he's not with mum.

That cage is only 3' and not big enough for a pair, so it's good you're looking at alternatives :)

How old was she when you got her? She could be pregnant, if there is a chance she is then you need to treat her as if she is i.e lots of vitamin C rich vegetables etc.

is there any way i can pout pictures up of all my pigs so * know wwho I'm taking about. please....

You can register with free http://www.photobucket.com in order to upload pictures and then copy/paste them onto here.

Boars and sows have both nipples - like humans.
Here is a good link to a website with loads of pics of babies at different ages:
http://www.cavyspirit.com/sexing.htm
Boys have a straight slit under their button, like a "i", whereas girls always have a little "y" underneath their nubbin.

anyone local who want to sex them .. i would ask vets but they going to have both my bunnies friday and i wont be taking them fiance will so i can ask him to take pigs too. too much for him.
