Can anyone help please. I’ve recently changed their bedding from hay to fleece as I was tired of the mess when it came to cleaning out time.
I’ve got a hay rack full of lovely fresh hay but they are both refusing to eat it . What can I do to persuade them as I know hay makes up the majority of their diet . Any idea piggy experts?

Can you share a photo of the hay rack? It takes time for them to learn how to use hay racks and hunger helps them. I can't help out much without seeing it. You can also put hay below the hay rack until they learn to eat from it.

Can you place a shallow plastic tray with soft hay underneath the rack to use as a toilet/bed? Piggies that have grown up on hay and the ground often prefer to eat from a tray, and to sleep in it. For some reason, they also love to eat hay when on the toilet...

Try filling a plastic cat litter tray.. this is what I use... lined with newspaper, meadow hay for a bit added bedding and feeding hay on top... good luck

Mine also have plastic trays with hay in as well as a large wooden magazine rack full of hay.

We have Rosewood corner rabbit litter trays in our fleecy areas, plus a seperate area with disposable bedding and floor hay. Piggies love floor hay, and eating and sleeping in a hay and poop filled toilet tray!
