Does anyone else have a piggy that does this? Comet's a nightmare for it. Tonight I was late with the dinner because I have had the migraine from hell all day, and my kidneys being the way they are I've had no chance to get shopping either. So all I had in the fridge were two bell peppers...so I cut those up for the boys, because they're still yummy and the food shortage will be fixed by tomorrow (for both the boys and me, I might add, I'm starving too!)

So Blitzen's having a field day, he loves bell peppers. Comet likes them too, and I hand feed them the first few pieces, just because. Then I split the rest up as evenly as possible and toss them into both sides of the cage (they're insisting on staying on opposite sides. least it means less food arguments!) and Blitzen's digging in immediately.

Comet...apparently got bored. I mean I'm not *giving* him the food anymore, he has to get it himself, even if it is right in front of his nose. So instead, he's eating hay again. And this isn't the first time, if he's getting blueberries for treats (as an example) he'll decide when he's had enough, and that's that. No more blueberries. Blitzen's a greedy sod and will eat as much as he can get away with, but Comet's just like "nope I'm full kthnxbai."

Anyone else have a Comet?

Its good that he's focusing on hay more as that should be the majority of their diet anyway. My Podrick does it, and when i put fresh hay in they'll both ignore any veg and go to the hay instead.

Yeah? I'm glad it's not just him, he's the first pig I've had like it. It's for that reason they only get veggies once a day - in the evening, left overnight, then removed in the morning. He takes the definition of "grazer" to a whole new level.

Yep, my Pod is a very chunky boy so I know that he eats enough but he hardly bothers with the veg when I drop it it. He'll have a few pieces and then wander back into the hay. He'll come back later for some but he dedicated doesn't rush to eat it.

My five drop everything for veg. Velvet (the boss) takes her time choosing what she is going to eat out of the selection whereas the other four just dive in! They have always been the same. They have plenty of hay too. I suppose they just lurve that veg!

My Rey often chooses hay over veg. She'll have a sniff of what ever I'm offering and then go back to the hay.

I scatter their veg around the cage so she does get the opertunity to have her share!

Lol my piggies would never choose hay over anything.
