I have 3 guinea pigs all in good health however I recently rescued a 4th female, she is extremely under weight weighing 209g, she has been to the vets and had a booster vacation to boost her appetite. (She’s having no problems eating it just helps her gain weight that little bit faster.)they have said other than her weight, she is healthy, happy and doesn’t show any signs of pain or stress. I’m just looking for meal ideas on ways for her to gain weight quickly and would love abit of help as I said I have never been in this situation before.

Awww she sounds very tiny... I am sure some one with more knowledge will be along soon to offer some advice x

With the right diet she should start gaining weight very quickly without the need for boosters. However you can try feeding some oats as well

Hi and welcome

Your little girl will hopefully gain weight on a good general diet anyway. Please do not be tempted to overfeed on empty/fattening calories as that can be ultimately damaging for her health. Guinea pigs have the ability to grow until they are about 2 years old if they have to make up lost ground; well beyond reaching adulthood.
Please take the time to read these two guides here. Concentrate on quality rather than quantity. The more hay your little girl eats, the better. Good health is more important than a large body!
Weight - Monitoring and Management
Long Term Balanced General And Special Needs Guinea Pig Diets

One of my own adoptees - and my heaviest piggy - is one that weighed only 400g at one year old (her 300g adult companion sadly didn't make it). Anything Teggy eats is converted to fat; she is not being fed any more than the others.
She did have dental problems from her bad diet. After they were taken care of, she hasn't looked back and is now topping 1300g!

Begw, the 200g mis-sexed baby I adopted in January (whose age was given as two months) is now coming up to 800g at 6 months old even though she will always stay on the smaller side because that is her genetic inheritance. Her body itself is nice and plump. ;)

So there is every hope that your youngster will do the same in her own time.
