Ill Visitors And Horrible Owners

Oh and yes, like many have said, I am speechless at how callous some people are. Yes, they are "only rodents" but whose to say they are any more or less worthy than humans. And if you really think that, why get pets in the first place... Honestly.

That makes me so mad. Unfortunately the idea that guinea pigs are disposable pets that don't deserve medical care is really common where I am. :( I once had someone suggest I put an ill piggie in the freezer as a kind of free home euthanasia and they were dead serious about it! They owned rabbits and I was too scared to ask if that was actually something they had done in the past because I was horrified at what the answer would be!

I would make sure you tell them that you and your son really enjoyed having the piggies, and that if they ever decide they don't want them, you would be happy to take them from her (even if they are sick and need medical care.) Maybe she will take you up on the offer. Short of involving authorities (depending on the laws where you live), which might be a very obvious tip-off to her who reported, I'm not quite sure what your options are. Poor little pigs. :( Why get pets if you aren't willing to take care of them?
This is a great suggestion of what to say. Very diplomatic. Thanks

If it's an out door living pig is dress in dark clothing hop over the back fence and pig nap the poor little creature, people like that should NEVER be allowed to have pets, she's lucky she did not say that to me I would have in no uncertain terms that animals are just like children you chose to have them & you would never dream of leaving your sick child in the garden to be fix food so how dear you say that about an animal, I'm well aware animals have to eat other animals but give them a chance a domestic animal is so different to a wild one who is taught how to hide & defend its self
Ok rant over feel better now :-)

They do live outdoors,. I don't think they would want them inside.... Not a bad idea...like Batman.....until the family come and visit us....eeek!

OMG that's sick! I will stay up all night to nurse a sick piggy back to health! The 2 piggies I've lost have died in my arms, loved and cared for their whole lives.

Hi have there been any more news on these little piggies did the test results come back you got done?
Hope it all worked out ok that the owners are looking after them or your plan of asking if you could have them worked
x
