Hi again, I seem to be posting a lot of threads lately about my herd! So nice to have folks who can help :)

I have found some guinea poos in the hutch, they are big, so definitely not little Rosie's. I'm guessing at Molly as she is the biggest and they are quite big poos! But I'm a bit concerned because they looked moist this morning and they are still shiny tonight whereas normally they are not. Someone has trodden on one and it has squashed (sorry to be so graphic!) and I haven't seen that happen before. But it is not diarrhoea, they are still very firm (unless trodden on ;D)

Molly is quite quiet atm and went for me when I tried to pick her up to take her to the run, so I left her in the hutch for a bit of quiet time while the others are in the run. (We've been out today so they've only been out about half an hour.) When I say went for me, it wasn't a snap or a bite, just butting at my hand with her head like she didn't want to be picked up.

Could she be a little out of sorts due to Rosie joining them on Thursday?

Another thing, this morning Rosie was doing this funny jerky thing with her head and moving her tongue a lot. On close inspection it looked like a tiny bit of a scratch/bite just on her top lip. There was a teensy bit of blood which was dark so maybe it happened Thursday and I didn't see (bad piggie mummy) probably cos she spent most of her time under my hair! I suppose she was trying to lick the wound (honestly it is less than half the size of a grain of rice so v. small). Could she have caught it somewhere? I keep looking at my pigs and thinking "ok who did that?"

Rosie is very affectionate, we had a very long cuddle after lunch and she sat up on my hand and was cleaning her little face and whiskers so she must feel quite relaxed mustn't she :smitten:.

Any thoughts on either of these probs anyone? Thank you for reading . . .

My twos poos have been like that lately too. I am putting down to them eating more grass than usual as it's that time of year-could be that? I will be interested to see what others think. I don't know about Rosies lip but sure it's nothing to worry about. Has she had a bit too much fruit? that can cause sores on lips sometimes.

Does it? I didn't know that. We only got Rosie on Thursday and they didn't give her any fruit in the pet shop so it could be that I suppose. I'd rather it was that than one of the others had a go at her.

Molly hasn't had more grass than usual though. As there's several pigs though, I guess when I feed them she could be snaffling more than her fair share of veggies, couldn't she?

Perhaps I'll feed the others separately and not give Molly any veg for a day or so. what do you think?

;D This thread made me laugh beause my guys normally have quite shiny poo that squishes when they stand on it. If they have too much dry poo I get worried that they aren't getting enough water. I think it is most likely just the change in the amount of grass they are eating and nothing to worry about. Makes you wonder though, are we actually nsane discussing piggy poo on the internet? :o

Her poos may been down to a couple of things, including eating better quality/more grass and slightly upset by Rosies presence. I would hold of putting her in the run and giving her any veggies for the next 24 hours. Are you sure it is her poos? As for Rosies lip I would just wipe it with the old solution water and salt and keep an eye on it. If one of the other guineas has gone for her she would have worse injuries that a little injury like that. :)

I agree. My lots poops are like that sometimes after a run on the grass :)

Yup my Rachael gets that shiny soft poop when she gets more veggies and fruits than her stomach can handle... especially apple is bad for Rachael...

I believe Rosie's stomach got upset because of unfamiliar "better quality" food. I would go easy on greens and fruits for several days. Hope she will be fine! ;)

Just to update on the poop situation ;D have found only normal ones today O0

Thank you for your concern and all your comments!

That's good news. She may of just pigged out on the fresh, better quality grass for this type of year. O0
