I haven't been on here for a while as I have just got another puppy so things are quite hectic. Anyway, I have always wanted to get Einstein a friend but I just have never looked into it. So after a long time persuading my mum... I am now allowed to get him a boar pig friend! I'm too exited :) but there's no rescues around me that have small pets so I am going to find it tough finding one :(

Anyway how good is this! :)

There are a few Scottish members on here who will be able to help you with where to go I'm sure :) Exciting times :)

Best of luck! Scotland hasn't got all that many good rescues, sadly; perhaps some of the Scottish members can give you tips depending on where exactly you are located.

That would be good :) I'm located right on the east of the Scottish Borders. Next to Northumberland :) x

Sadly no good guinea pig rescues anywhere near you! :(

The northern part of Northumberland is unfortunately one of our rescue "white" spots on the map. Most guinea pig rescues are privately/volunteers run, so we depend on people making the huge step and running a rescue to a good standard. That is very demanding. :(

What a shame! I've even been in touch with a rescue in Carlisle that had a single boar and they did say I could have him, however, I would need to travel over two hours to get there :( I should really start one myself! Hehe (don't think my mum would approve somehow :P )

I have rehomed from Becklen myself. I have also travelled well over 3 hours on the train with piggies from 7 weeks to 9 years old on various occasions, so it can be done - as long as you can get your parents on board! My Taffy, who is still going, was part of a large rodent rescue from a really bad backyard breeder in Gateshead in 2009; she ended up in Gretna (where Becklen was located at that time) before she came all the way to the West Midlands with her last rescue born daughter (the white aby in my avatar). Taffy has also been with us on a holiday on the Llyn peninsula in Northwest Wales, which was a 6 hour drive each way.
