Ive had the boys brother (same litter) and pen mate Darwin offered to me as they were both rehomed and brought back within a week! so I'm gaining more boys tomorrow and going to look at some girls at the weekend whos owner got too many in and a bit over crowded.

Good job i have a bit of space! :))

You will need to keep both pairs of boars separately I would think, or you will be heading for a big fall out when they hit the hormonal stages.

Keeping the girls out of sight and smell is also strongly advised.

Well they are here anyway, darwin is 10 weeks and the other little one is 6 weeks and I was advised by my friend to chuck them in together as they are babies still and they have all been fine so far.

But I'm not keeping them - they are going next door to my neice who is desperate for piggies and darwin the 10 week old one is fantastic to handle. So chloe will be over the moon.

I am going to put some money aside for a huge hutch and run and get some ladies in september. I wanted a herd of girls so am going to get some which is great. So will stick with my boys for now and get them sorted!

I'm glad that you aren't intending on keeping them together permanently. At this age you can usually run boars together but when they get to their 'teen' months you will have all sorts of problems.

Well no matter I'm not keeping them - they are going next door this evening to a new owner. I shall be getting some girls when i have a massive hutch.

You still won't be able to keep the two boys in with the girls together.

Sorry but it is really sad you are splitting up two happily bonded boys for the sake of a herd, to please your own self. It's not in the welfare of the animal and is not fair to them at all.

What are you on about?

Ive got my two bonded boars living as a pair together, I wont be splitting them up - they will be staying together.

The new boys i got yesterday were immediately homed next door as a bonded pair. I was never going to keep them.

My boys louie and humphrey are staying together!

I'm off, ive found people so rude and patronising on this forum and I was told it was lovely on here. Good luck too you all, I'm fed up of being spoken too like a child!

Please could I ask that everyone remains polite and courteous to other forum users, especially new members.

Sometimes things can be misunderstood, but I would rather someone asks for clarification than immediately presumes the worst.

I feel we need to think a bit more carefully about the 'friendly' aspect of this forum.
