If this shouldn't be here then sorry no idea where to shove it :D

I'm so happy! I've now had the piggies for roughly nine months and they are lovely once out of the cage but usually run at 100mph whenever I walk by...slowly but surely we've been getting there! They will now take veggies from my hand if I sit really still and wait for them (they grab them then run to their house but still, until a few weeks ago they would not come anywhere near me at all)..also if Beauty is asleep/eating (basically stood still) and I walk up to them really slowly (whilst talking to them of course so I don't scare them) he lets me pick him up with no fights and doesn't run at all :)

lol I know some of you might be thinking "huh, my piggies have always been like that" or "why has it taken so long" but seriously everyday I sit there offering them veg, talking to them etc etc so this is a big acheivment for us :D

That is so fab, the sense of achievment is great isnt it? It shows that it is worth sticking at and they will settle and know who their mummy is ;)

Yep it is great ;D and you're right, sometimes I sit at the side of the cage like 'whyyyyy am I doing this, they're never gunna come over' but the patience pays off :D :smitten:

I think they're feeling more confident too because they are sleeping outside their houses now which to me shows they're not as scared - maybe I'm interpreting (sp) it wrong but surely if they're scared they'll hide away, if they're not they'll feel more comfortable to sleep outside of them? Beauty is currently asleep with his head in the food bowl :smitten: they love sleeping with their head resting on their teddy hehe :D

That's great Jane :) It makes it all so much more rewarding in those first moments of trust, particularly if they have had a bad time before coming to you :)

Well, I've no idea how they were before they came to me but I doubt they were handled much..well, their owners weren't very knowledgable..they were kept in a hutch less than 2ft long all year round, never fed veg etc. but I guess that's pretty typical unfortunately :( I don't think they were handled much at all though. I'm so happy hehe :D

Awww thats wonderful news you have been accepted by them for you being their new piggy mummy ;D ;D

Aw that's great well done! A lot of people's piggies will never let them pick them up! I cant wait till mine let me :) x

That's great, Jane! Beauty and Pepper are such lovely looking pigs :smitten:

Your patience has paid off! O0

Aw, thats lovely, I bet you are made up! I've just got Scruffy to come to my hand, and he will now let me stroke him outside of his hay nest... its so rewarding!

The first time is the best O0 :smitten:

I have one who used to live a poor stye of life and she is always very cautious of any human but her sister is completely different, she runs onto my lap for safety any time we sit next to each other :smitten: I think it's probably because I've been with her all her life though so I am just one of those constants she has always known....

WOOOO HOOOOO that's fab news love O0 :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:
Yep it's all worth it isn't it :smitten: :smitten: :smitten: :smitten:

Great Jane. O0
Only had ours a month one is so calm lets you pick him up and cuddle. Nibbles sounds like yours and I can see I'm just going to have to be very patient.
