I’m off on holiday tomorrow for a week. I feel bad leaving the boys with my two kids (22 and 24) for a week so I make it as easy as I can for them

Here’s the veg for the week. Lol. Anyone else do this when you go away ?

When I go on holiday, I take my piggies to Aunty Lilli and leave enough hay and veg for a week (or how ever long I'm going to be away for), pellets and coriander (always have to take coriander or there would be a riot!) and hope for the best! Have a lovely holiday.

Only when my niece (who eagerly volunteered) and brother-in-law came in to check on and feed the piggies. I left the veg prepped and cut ready to feed.

I now take them to a boarder who’s absolutely lovely. So they only go with pellets but she knows what vet they eat.

Have a great time and relax. I’m sure they’ll be fine 😊

My partner looks after them when I go away. I buy enough veg for the time I will be gone but I don't prepare it! I leave a prepared plate just for the first evening as a reminder of how much they get but I know they get a little extra sometimes! They also apparently have chips and treacle sponge and go out night clubbing.
Have a lovely holiday.

The last time I went away for a few days (far too long ago!) I did exactly the same thing for my sister to feed the pigs, as well as fish food in teeny bags and the two cat’s food all weighed up for each meal in little pots too! :)) You’re not alone in your beasty-grub-portioning OCD! :))
Hope you have a lovely holiday :hug:x

Glad I’m not the only one. 😄

I haven’t been away for years but we are having a little break away this summer and my sister is looking after my animals.
She has rabbits herself so knows how to deal with them but she is worried about looking after the piggies! I am going to box up their veg portions (for all the piggies and the bunnies) just as you have done. I’m also going to pre-portion their pellets (they don’t get them every day so I want them portioned and labelled for her)! Anything to make it easier for her. If we enjoy our little holiday away (which I know me the children and I will, it’s hubby who is a workaholic which bothers me) i want to be able to do it again so I need my sister to feel confident about looking after the piggies so it’s needs to be as easy as possible for her!

That’s exactly it. I want to make it as easy as possible for them. You’ll have a great holiday knowing everything is sorted back home.

Last time I went on holiday (and did not put them to board), they got up to major trouble so you better keep an eye on them!

(I am not sure how family-friendly this forum is mean to be so I apologise if this is too much!)

I joke, both those boys are gone now (not due to this photo thankfully) and it’s a very sweet memory.
My dads friend who was looking after them is quite the joker, if you can’t tell.

Enjoy your holiday, just remind them you are just a text away for that extra piece of mind.

I used to do exactly the same thing when my neighbours looked after my piggies for a few days. You are certainly not alone. It means they get the right amount of the right things and it's easier for your family.

Yes! Even when going away for less than 24 hours I would leave a pack up for them and their current weights, ages and the vets contact details on the fridge just in case

I saw your comment about caring for fish while on vacation. You can buy one of those medication/pill organizer that is set up for a week and put in the daily amount of fish food in each day.

@weepweeps I hope you have a lovely time!
