The above says it all really. I'm missing not being involved with guinea pig rescue. :( It's so very different to hedgehog rescue. As lovely as hedeghogs are, treating them consists of medication by injection, fleas & ticks, smelly poo and sore hands and they certainly don't like a cuddle.

I adore all our pet guinea pigs and have lots more time for them now but there's something different and special about taking in a rescue guinea pig that needs extra special care and attention and bringing them back to full health.

I can only imagine, it must be so hard to have rescued and then had to stop.
Maybe one day you'll be able to open your doors to piggies in need again? Or, for now, perhaps just take in a couple of piggies who are really in need of TLC? If there are other rescues around in need of fosters, you could consider that - you'd still get to do a lot of the "rehabilitation" and bringing them back to good health, but you'd have the support of the rescue and much less strain on your own finances.

You are ding such a great job with the hedghogs, but i know what you mean, could you maybe just use one hutch for a rescue. Though iknow how hard it would be to only leave it at one hutch.

I have a whole shed with empty hutches at the moment. Only small 3 and 4ft ones but I kept them for emergencies.

Maybe I could just rescue one or two but I would have to stop there and this would be soooo difficult to do.

I know how you feel Claire, I still miss it even though its been over a year now. I still get phone calls asking me to take animals in but I have to be strict with myself and turn them down. I certainly don't miss the people :))
