Random thread but I'm rather excited....

Although I am new to guinea pig ownership - we only got our first boars in August last year, we are now getting two more!

We decided we could comfortably house two more boars and as my friend was looking for a home for two of her rescue boars, we couldn't resist.

Something even more special the boys are foxes! One is chocolate and one is black :D We should be getting them early next week and I can't wait!

That's great! :) Guinea-pigs are very addictive :)) Please post photos when you get them :)

Very exciting indeed. As Alicia said, piggies are sooo damn addictive. I started off with 2, then a week later I adopted my Gilly.. then another week or so later I just HAD to get him a friend :)). I'm done for now though, *pinky promise*.:)

Ooooooo soo exciting! Have you thought of names? :))

I think four will be enough...for the moment! My garden isn't big
enough to have anymore runs.

My two boys now are about 4/5 years and my new boys will only be 5 months-i think the age difference might be a shock.

I will definately get some pictures on when the lads are settled, we are planning on calling them Elton and Alvin
:)

aha Alvin. One of my babies is called Alvin.. you must must must take some piccies when they are settled :))

Well we have had a slight set back. After agreeing to adopt the boys the very next day they had a bit of a strop and one chap got bitten.
They are still together and are fine now but one is on a course of baytril.
The boys are only 5 months and seem to be getting stroppy due to there been females around the garden. They aren't in contact with nor can they see the females but their testosterone seems to be flowing!
The boys will come to me hopefully by the end of the week. I'm hoping they will calm down once at mine as there are no females but we will have to wait and see!

Ahh bad news and I'm gutted. The boys had a huge fight today causing them both to have bad bite wounds to the rump and face which were bleeding. Boys have been split up and are both on Baytril. The boys are getting neutered next week, Elton will be going back to the lady I got them from to be paired up with one of his sisters and Alvin will be staying with me and be paired up with his other sister after neutering. I'm quite gutted as we love both of the boys but keeping them both and getting two more wives would just be too much for us.

I thought we were doing really well as both boys were very calm....I guess there was just too much testosterone for them to handle!

Do any of you have any post-neutering care advice for young boars?
