I'm so stunned, and very sad.

I've had the most busy day in ages. Haven't slept properly in two nights, and i've just got back to work after the summer hols so am shattered! Had to rush around after work then then finally home at half ten. Which is when i found out that my lovely Harvey has died. I just cannot believe it. He hasn't been ill, he's been eating as much as ever. He was four and was just beginning to show his age slightly, I can't put my finger on how, but just a bit older. But he's been fine. Turns out my Mum went to feed him because I was out and he was dead. Am so shocked, I've had him since his birth and he was a very intuitive and affectionate piggy, and at four he was still a good sized guinea. Am so sad, if shall be so very missed.
 
So very sorry for your loss hun.
He will always be with you no matter what and 1 day you will meet again.

it sounds like Harvey had a nice long piggie life with you, i'm so sorry for your loss. He is thinking of you as much i'm sure!

What an awful shock, especially when it's sp unexpected. I'm very sorry you lost Harvey, he sounds like he was a lovely piggie. x
 
Thanks all of you for your lovely comments. I think really although it's shocking and I am so gutted to have him die so suddenly, at least I haven't watched him suffer. So I'm happy for him to have such a quick painless end.

I think it's maybe a bit of a quirk with guineas that they do this, it's happened to me before, with another old, but healthy happy piggy. I guess they know best, and go before they get too old and ill. Bless him!
 
I am so sorry for the loss of Harvey. He knew he was loved, he lived a good life with you. Big *hugs* to you.

Oh, I feel for you. It is just so so hard when this happens. :(
I think it is the shock and confusion that hurts so much.
However, guinea pigs are very good at disguising illnesses.

I'm so sorry to hear this sad news. Harvey obviously had a very special place in your heart and it is so sad that he was taken so suddenly. He had a wonderful life with you and will always be watching over you from Rainbow Bridge..

So sorry for your loss. The only consolation is that he didn't suffer and died peacfully knowing he was greatly loved.
 
So sorry to read this, what a shock for you but if it was his time to go then he went quickly and without any pain. He will be watching no doubt!
My thoughts are with you.
