Today I've tried fleece for a first time. I've lined the cage with puppy pads then put the fleece over it. Barnum seemed more pleased about his new house than the fleece. Here is some pictures (ignore the cage he's getting a c&c one in a few weeks)

Looks fab! Since changing to fleece I havent looked back! :) fab choice for the wallet, their ickle feets and the smell! xx>>>

I will be trying fleece soon.

But I am not sure about washing it and hair and poo blocking my washing machine lol. Was thinking maybe those wee animal bags you put dog coats etc in to wash your machine might work?!

Looks very snuggly xx

I have to admit-I'm not a fan of fleece, I tried it and all they did was burrow under it which tells me thats what they need to do. I think it looks nice but seeing Piggys burrowing around in hay and foraging to me looks more natural.

I often wonder who came up with the idea of putting Piggys on fleece, when I was young it was totally unheard of.

I've always wondered that. Barnum doesn't burrow anyway gave him a giant pile of hay to burrow in the other day thinking he will love it and he just wasn't interested! Lol

Perhaps some guinea pigs burrow more than others :)

We have a baby in the cage now and she gets lost in the hay, sometimes we can't find her :))
My Piggys do have just under half of their c&c in fleece and they burrow under that too!

Well I'm converted to fleece. 4 days in ive just changed Barnum such an easy job. Fleece shook into bin before going into washing machine and wasn't wet at all. Puppy pads probably could of lasted the week as they weren't very wet but I changed them. Job done! No mess of brushing up megazorb! Love it!

If your worried about the burrowing nature my quilted tunnels and squbes are a good substitute for the need to have a hole to bolt into.

and I can thoroughly recommend cavy couture who make fabulous tunnels and cozies, I have brought from them and will do again. http://www.cavycouture.co.uk/ourshop/cat_200113-003Tunnels.html

none of my pigs, that is all 6 are really that bothered about burrowing, they love their hideys and tunnels, but they do love fleece and vet bed so much I see them sleeping out in the open on it.

He's got a snuggle sack and a pigloo and will probably add to his collection once he's got an even bigger cage!
