Hey guys, you will be glad to hear that I rehomed my other 5 piggies, so I have 4 which is working out fantastically. However, I am very worried about Hamish.

He has always been small, but he broke his teeth a while back and struggled to eat so lost alot of weight, I managed to give him calcium supplement and that helped, he has been out on the grass lots recently, but still seems thin, he is still keen to eat, veg, lettuce and even some hard food, but I am just so worried he is still so thin and bony :( I can't seem to do anything to help, I cut his fruit and veg up and clean his teeth every other day, but hes not getting better.

It upsets me so much as I feel helpless as everything i seem to have tried isnt working 8...

I guess these piggies are like any other animal some are large some are small.

We have a 13 year old cat Called Figaro who is tiny, people think he is a kitten or just young. he had problems with eating but is just fine. My mothers cat is like a Panther!

yeah I just dont like seeing him all bony and stuff :( I might be moving out of my house in a few months and don't like the idea of anyone else rehoming him as I can't trust they would keep up his care regime I have for him 8...

It is far more difficult for a piggie to gain weight after they have lost it, than to lose it in the first place. They know how to optimise the worry for their keepers!

Have his back teeth been checked?

I would just keep doing as you are doing for the moment but do monitor his weight very regularly - it should give you an indication as to his well being if he is in fact putting weight on regularly then he should be ok.

Helen.
