This is going to sound a bit odd, but I've just been cuddling Mildred and I couldn't help but notice her lips and nose look very pale :( They usually are a lot pinker in colour. I cuddle her every day and have never worried about anything with her ever. She seems very happy and is eating and drinking and sleeping, nothing out of character. Her ears have more of a pinker colour than her lips and nose. Do you think that there is something wrong with her? :( I love my Mildred so much :(

Sometimes the colour of the nose/mouth/ears/skin does pale a little, it can be normal. Just keep an eye on her, they should darken to their usual pink again soon. If you are still worried or if other symptoms come along then it's definitely worth checking with a vet/rodentologist - it is hard to say just how normal it is in such a case without seeing the pig in person.

I'm going to check her again in a bit - she's asleep in the log cabin at the moment - she does sleep alot bless her :) She's only in the kitchen so I can keep a close eye on her. If she is still like it in the morning there is a rodentologist half an hour away from me, failing that my vet will see her - but I feel the vet is just not knowledgeable enough about piggies :(

Best to see the rodentologist first then, even if just to get an idea of what could be the cause if it is still like this tomorrow. If other symptoms - inactivity, URIs, weight loss - do present at the same time as a long-term paling of the skin, it can indicate heart issues. Sometimes a slightly chilly piggie can get pale skin too - so something basic can be to blame. Since Mildred's only problem is a pale nose and lips, I wouldn't worry yourself just yet though, I'm sure she'll be as pink as normal in a bit. :)

Mildred's lips and nose look much pinker this morning :red I think I'm going mad :{ I worry too much :red

No, not going mad, just a good piggie-mum. But I'm glad she's looking better for you this morning.
