I have noticed that when I sit close to a new or nervous pig and give myself a little "wash" (i.e. hands over face and hair) the guinea pig will visibly relax. Has anybody had similar experiences or other tips?
I've got Olwen new - she's a rescue that has been living with only an old rabbit for company in a cramped cage since she was little, and has yet to learn to get on with pigs. She tends to get aggressive when on overload.
