I have a 4 year old boar who has a saggy anal sac, a few weeks ago I learnt about impaction, watched and read everything on here & gently got a pea sized amount really easily out. But I'm not sure if it actually is impaction or just normal and he'd get it out himself, I've left it a week and it doesn't look swollen but I canstill get a smelly pea size amount out easily. Should I just leave him? Is this impaction?

Hi!

It would be good if you had your boy and his boar bits vet checked during his ideally at least once or twice yearly vet health check now that he is no longer quite as young.
If it is impaction, it is very much on the extremely mild side yet and doesn't yet need daily attention. I would not worry much at this stage, which can remain like that for a long time. Make sure that you feed the same diet more regularly, and that our boy eats as much hay as possible (and not too much fresh veg). ;)

Only about 10% of all older boars develop impaction that needs full attention. ;)

One of my previous elderly boars had mild compaction where he was usually 'hiding' a small poo (half his usual long frankfurter-shaped ones!) in his sac, but usually no more than that. I checked him regularly and cleaned him out, but it didn't get any worse over a couple of years or so.

I'm sure your boy will be fine and hope his problems remain minor.
