for about 8 weeks now ive noticed this poor little darling sat in the glass cage at the local pet prison. every week ive wanted to bring her home but had always said id never buy from a pet shop. sadly today i went in and she was cramped in a small glass compartent with THREE huge rabbits. she was being trampled upon everytime one moved and seemed to have sustained a kick or scratch to the eye. even though she had a mega dear price-tag, i had to get her out of there. enough was enough

so here is Mojito, my first ever pet shop impulse rescue!

ive checked over her eye, doesnt seem any bad damage no blood or abrasion, just a little sore, shall be keeping an eye on it :), there is also a patch of missing scabby fur above her nose/ between her ears/ in the middle of her forehead sort of area, so she'll be quarantined before meeting her new friends.

She is absolutely beautiful, what a little darling!

I always think, although a pet shop would never be myfirst port of call, that it isnt the poor piggies fault they've ended up there and the chances are they'll end up in rescue further down the line anyway. They deserve a long and happy, stable life too!

I am glad she is now in your safe hands, I hope she finds her way to happiness now!

any idea on the breed? i think shes crossed with something, half her hair is so so soft, yet the other half is wirey and sticks up in places!

What a stunner drool I love piggies with her type of coat! I think you did exactly the right thing rescuing her and I am sure she will now have a happy love filled life x)

She's lovely. I think you have to go with what feels right for you at the time. She's going to have a super life now. :)

She is gorgeous - well done for you to get that poor girl out!

She is soooooo adorable! Sounds like she's had an awful start in life but today is her lucky day!

Good for you and no need to apologise. It's easy to think that you'd never buy from a pet shop, on principle, but I'd defy anyone to see this lovely girl under those conditions, for that length of time, and still not cave in...you're only human and clearly a very nice one too! :)

She is wonderful... and she needed someone to help her out of that situation! I don't think she cares about our "principles"... In the end it's always about the little animal. Good on you!

She's so cute, she really couldn't stay there much longer it wouldn't have been fair. Lucky for her to have had such a caring customer keeping an eye out for her all this time. I'm sure she'll feel very much happier to be with you now!

My Sandy was from a scruffy pet shop near my boyfriend's work, he is a blonde long hair and the OH got him as he knew he was a target for some kid who would brush his hair for about a week and then forget about him like a toy. He was also covered in bites and sores and also had ringworm :( It does go against your principles and I did say to the OH that the owner would only get in more stock but he insisted he wouldnt leave him there, he is such a lovely pig though I wouldn't change anything!

I'm glad you got her away from that cage with three rabbits in before any serious damage happened. She looks a real sweetie, a bit cowed at the moment but there is a twinkle in those eyes!

She's gorgeous, you so did the right thing, how irresponsible of the shop to put her in with the rabbits. She will have a lovely life with you, she is very lucky that you came along.

she is gorgeous i would have done the same thing poor baby stuck in with rabbits xx
