So, as some of you know I'm stuck at home with vertigo at the moment, and my dad went out to get me some shopping today, mostly for me but I did ask for some carrots for the pigs.

Bearing in mind I have about 50 pigs here at the moment, how many carrots do you think he thought I'd need?

6!

Yes, 6!

Now not sure whether my parents are in denial as to how many piggies are here or if he genuinely thought that would feed them! :)) :)) :))

LOL Bless him!

If the pigs give you funny looks just say it's grandads fault! :(|)

Emily was talking to Dad about Ellie and my Dad was like who is Ellie when did you get her and I said ages ago! LOL Dad was quizzing Emily but she wouldn't say! I've taught her well!

He thinks I have 15 but I have 21! :))

I always give a different number to keep them on their toes... 72, 84, etc. they'd be relieved in a way to know it was fewer!

My niece has been taught the same - 'what, this old thing, been here ages!' :))

:)p LOL aww bless your dad :)
I am an expert now at doing the shocked face. "New? No..this pig's not new, I've had her ages. Don't you remember me getting her?!"

ROFL bless him mine are well used to it by now so whenever they pass a farm shop they always bring a sack of something!

Can pop and fetch some more on my way over today if you like literally going past the shop anyway :)

AWWW - you made me laugh! Bless you father!

We tend to eat lots of chunky vegetable soup, so any piggy extras are well disguised, as my number can still be counted one hand... even by my hubby!

Haha Mum always says 'Oh Louise how did you get to have so many!'

But I explain when boars fall out and people are emailing you to take them in and they give you hutches for them then why not, its a hobby! Mums is buying off Bid up TV mine is Guinea Pigs! LOL

:)) Aww, lol, bless your dad.

Bearing in mine I'm a teenager living at home with my parents, I'm still always giving my dad different figures of how many hamsters I have :)) Last night it was "Ah, sounds like there's about 15 hamsters awake already!" even though I only have 11 ;)

(Before anyone comments on it - mum knows how many I have and I don't just bring random animals in, lol)

:)) :)) :)) How funny :)) Maybe you ought to have a veggie patch or two :) My dad has a massive garden and grows loads of veg and if I pop over I usually go home with a carboot full of salad and veg - I think he thinks we eat it though - I daren't tell him where his super vine tomatoes go or his prize winning cucumbers and the huge spring greens :))

awwwwwwwww my dad usually comes to work each week with a bag of home grown silverbeet, he forgot today.....he was devastated and said well i bought you flowers (home grown daffodils x))

6 carrots........erm yes i'm sure they all had a little pick......rolleyes:(|) and then said WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK grandad where is the rest? :p

This thread has really made me laugh. Anyone looking in my fridge would think how healthily we eat. Little do they know that the fridge is the piggies. Mine is the cupboard with chocolate, biscuits, crisps, sweets....
Hope your carrots were bigger than the ones I grew for Maria:rolleyes

That is so funny! bet she enjoyed the nice big leafy part anyway :)) I have bought some carrot seeds but not got round to planting them yet! mine will probably be even smaller :))

LOL, bless him! As they say, it's the thought that counts...

Tell E&E they must share their portions VERY nicely or they will be in trouble.

Well this just made me giggle!!

oh that sounds like my dad lol

when my lilly got preagant for the 2nd time we allready had 8 piggies me and my mum didnt tell my dad for 2 weeks you need to tell my dad things like these when he is in a very good mood lol

and that little carrot wont be just the right size for my max he only likes a small potion of veg

you only need to tell dads creation things

Ahhhh the good old men! :))
They seem to have no idea how much the animals are consuming each day. And they are also in the dark on how many animals are actually living in the same household....LOL

So typical. Hope your piggies got a feed of carrots a some time later, when you stocked up on some more! lol:))

I agree I think it's always best to be slightly non commital about how many piggies you have, that's my advice and it's worked for me! Plus, I found the more I had the easier to incorporate a new piggy without suspicion....

At most I think we've had about twenty, but over the years about fifty or sixty I bet, my Dad used to build cages, and he'd just keep tacking another on the end until we had this massive long line of hutches. All different shapes and sizes. The best bit was when we introduced them all together at one point and cut holes and built ramps and had about 6 or 7 piggies living in a complex of about four hutches. Oh those were the days!
