Because of my health issues, l am in isolation for next 12 weeks, what am l missing most? MY GRANDCHILDREN. This afternoon after school my daughter brought them over, they stood in my front garden trying to talk to me, by the closed window, it's heartbreaking,,missing our hugs, kisses and cuddles.

I'm so sorry for your current situation. It's not really nice feeling isolated with your loved ones.

My in-laws have a friend (92 or 94 yo, can't remember) who hubby and I visit regularly. Since his wife died a few years ago of cancer, he feels lonely most of the time. He has a son and a carer who sees him everyday but of course it's different without having anyone else to talk to.

He had just been diagnosed with another illness a couple of months ago (something about his bowel) on top of having polymyalgia for 30 yrs. He told us the other day that he is feeling down. Hubby and I wanted to visit him, but with him being 90+, I am worried we'd infect him. Hubby and I are both on self-quarantine/self-distancing mode since we came back from America on 9th March. We don't have symptoms or anything but I'm worried since not being able to know if we have a virus or not, we can't visit our lonely friend. Hubby (who is also classed with weakened immune system or has compromised health because of his arthritis) asked him if we can visit him next week but he hasn't replied yet. If not for COVID-19, we've already seen him. ☹

I know this must be really difficult, I’m asthmatic and I think I’m in the same situation. My son and children are in
lock down atm as my son’s work colleague appears to have it and my son and grandchildren are all poorly with cold symptoms I may not see them for 3 month either 😣

This is my comfort food, it lasts 3,4 days ,home made stew, l make it on my wood burner, the smell is wonderful, and it makes sure l eat properly. The grandchildren are now home, their school and college has close, the talk is they won't reopen until September. Faith is the most upset. Told her she can spend more time with her horse, Tinker.

I feel like in that film, can't remember what it was called ,where I will step out in to a whole new changed world.

Have found it hard going this afternoon, evening, feeling a bit melancholy, this my 2nd week In isolation ,think it may be lack of human interaction.

@teddymouse I am only a few miles down the road from you, if there is anything you need just pm me. The lack of human interaction is not nice but we are all here for you. I know it's not the same as physically talking or seeing someone and giving them a cuddle and 12 weeks of isolation is not fun but it is keeping you safe and that is the most important thing. You are a lovely person and all your family love you and want the best for you. Talk to and cuddle your many piggies that will help.

Had a cuddle with my lovely Dewberry this evening as l put them all to bed,she in my avatar, she was lovely and warm after being in the sunshine,
awww, bet that helped

Hope you are having a better day today.
Yes thankyou l did, started with my hour in the spa to get my joints moving, had breakfast, then went mad, and bathed both the dogs, they were not impressed with me,lol,
By then the frost had gone, and the grass had dried, so let piggies out, moving their fences by 20 foot to the back of the orchard, cut a barrow of wood on the bench saw for sticks(good old wooden pallets). managed get a couple of loads of washing done.
After checking in on here, a couple of times. took my felting and sat out in the sunshine for a couple of hours, l had a long chat with my daughter, putting the world to rigth's. Ordered a food hamper from 'cherry pickers hampers ' they delivered 2 hours later free of charge, all fresh local food. Just lite the woodbruner as starting to chill down, will go and feed round and shut piggies up for the night soon. And will then settle in for the night, do some more felting. All in all, a good day thankyou. 😀😎
