It has been getting very hot lately, nearly reaching 100 degrees Fahrenheit (that's about 38 degrees Celsius)! My house only has air conditioning in one room. So I was wondering what you guys do to keep your piggies cool.

I've tried wrapping a dry ice pack in a towel and leaving it nearby, but I don't know if its helping at all. I don't want Gilbert to overheat in this weather. Would it be a good idea to bring him down to the basement where it's cooler? At the moment, I have the fan directed at him. Is this okay? Or is it bad for him?

And now, I need to go jump in the pool! It is soo hot!malletheadmallethead

I put a fan by the cage. Guineas aren't supposed to have air blow directly at them so angle it so the air goes above by still thru the cage. I have also pyt bowls of ice in the cage so the can lay next to them.

I'm not sure if you can get them over there, but here in the UK they sell little rubber cushions that you can put in the freezer. Then you put them in their hutch/cage covered with a fleece and they can lie on them.

I will see if I can find a link for them somewhere.

I have some ice pods for my girls and although I have never seen them actually lay on them, I have seen them lay near them :)

A bog standard kitchen / bathroom tile is also good for coolness. Just place in the cage and Gilbert may go and sit on it.
