Evening all,

So Samson is 2 and he lost an incisor yesterday, on checking today the other is broke also! Both top!
Please advise what I can do, vets booked tomorrow.

Hi I'm no expert at all but just letting you know one of our boys broke an incisor we had a quick vet check he was fine and literally 4/5 days later it was back couldn't believe how fast it grew back 💐

Good luck at the vets. Piggy teeth grow back very quickly so hopefully if there is no underlying issue they should soon be back to normal.

What I would do is weigh them first thing in the morning to make sure they are eating ok and not losing weight. Cutting veggies into strips can help too.

Welcome to the forum

I agree with the others. It’s good you’ve got a vet appointment.
If they’ve broken but still visible above the gum then they usually grow back without issue. Anything broken below the gum line then the vet will need to check them.

Switch from the routine weekly weight checks and instead weigh him daily so you can more closely monitor hay intake. If he loses weight then it’s because he isn’t eating sufficient hay and you will need to step in with syringe feeding a recovery feed/mashed pellets to replace fibre intake.

Let us know how you get on at the vet.

Ps I have moved your thread to the health and illness section. The care sections of the forum are monitored by staff (you will notice we have our specialist area badges in our signatures) to ensure all posts are answered and accurate advice given. However the other areas are not quite so monitored (but they are still moderated) as they are more general in way so posts can get missed and not receive specialist advice.
