Incorrect Nonsense!

I read the first page then felt to angry to read on! What rubbish saying guinea pigs are starter pets! There is no such thing and it's hamsters that live up to three years. Argh!

I wish my bank account agreed with that first fact! :mal:
I wish my shopping list agreed with the second fact! (simple diet my a**)
I wish my small over crowded room agreed with the third fact!
I could go on but i think i'll stop before i over rant .... :hb:

Facts like this are why small animals become pets for small children that can't fulfil all their needs. :td: I'm also slightly concerned about the guinea pig being held in picture 8?!

Jeeze that's appalling and you are right, pic 8 is awful. So much to hate about this. How can people get away with writing such drivel?!

They live 2 to 3 years? My old piggy snowball was approx 15 when he died. I wish they had their facts right. Also can someone tell my 2 they are supposed to be easy to litter train. Lol. It's sad as some people will believe this nonsense and guinea pigs will suffer as a result.

What awful completely wrong data for most of it.

Also that guinea pig held by the small boy horrified me. Those arms look like they will dislocate in that position! Jesus Christ! Poor piggy!

Some guinea pigs can die early, 2-3 was the age Gilbert and Ludwig passed away roughly but my oldest guinea pig was 9 years old when he died. This person needs to look into information before writing an article anyone can find and get wrong facts from.

:hb:
the first part made me cross when it implied guinea pigs aren't serious pets and should be used as a tester to see if a child is ready for a dog?! ...what a load of rubbish! I didn't finish reading the rest...

Complete rubbish, ugh :hb:

I really hate things like this, it's useless information and I hope no one actually takes this as correct information!

Also not liking picture 8.. Cute pigs though.

I managed to read all of this rubbish and I am incredulous. The dimwit who wrote this big pile of guinea pig poop needs a good slap. She obviously did no research and made guinea pigs out to be no more than animated toys.People use the net for info, god help any poor Piggie bought on the heads of this:cen:

Oh my.... It's all completely wrong. Think she needs some more comments to stop writing this twaddle.
There's a whole series on 9 amazing benefits of owning rats, ferrets, gerbils, chinchillas.

Oh my what nonsense! That is a very misleading website! And did you see the picture at number 8? Tat poor little guinea pigs legs are broken Ahhhh! I can't believe someone would do something like this! :mal:

Someone has managed to put quite a good comment on pointing out many of the inaccuracies. I read it all but am quite stunned. I don't think I've read anything so ill informed on the internet for quite some time (maybe as I seem to spend all my time on this forum!)

Yeah I read right through the whole 10 pages and quite agree with your assessment of a pile of guinea pig poop! I

The post made my blood boil so I tried to comment as well and sure enough couldn't do it without subscribing.

I saw that great comment as well. Hopefully people who read this rubbish will also read the comments.

I am so sick of the term "startet pet". There is no such thing. I have had dogs, cats, fish, birds, hamsters and piggies. Every one of them required time,.effort and money to keep health and happy, responsibilities that no child could handle by themselves. And quite frankly I find my piggies require more time, effort and money that my poochie! As does my son who looks after my furballs when I have to go away. He always says he hopes the piggies "kick the bucket" before I do as he doesn't mind taking my dog but is not looking forward to having to look after the piggies permanently (even though he has a soft spot for them).

Wow.

Guinea pigs live 2-3 years "at the most" why not get one as a test for your kids before getting a "serious" pet like a cat or dog?! OR, why not DO YOUR RESEARCH before writing an article based on no knowledge.

that's terrible, they're making out piggies are literally to be used as 'guinea pigs' to test out their child's responsibility, why should they want a dog over a piggy...guinea pigs can be just as much work as a dog if you care for them like we do on this forum. live two or three years at the most, corr, my friend's mum's pet lives till a great 9 years. piggies aren't meant to be named as an 'easy' pet to look after, they're just smaller than a dog, how would the piggie feel if they were told that. fed up of piggies being treated as a second class citizen animal.

''and they can run through a great deal of water each day. All said, guinea pigs are very easy to feed.''
they hardly drink ANY water each day, so that's a load of sh**, and they are NOT easy to feed, it is easy to give them too many vegetables and give them not enough hay if your a bad owner, and over feed pellets. they're talking out of their a***
i'm annoyed as it is, now reading this has made me go in rage mode

On page three now, just getting annoyed even more, i haven't seen such a bad website for guinea pigs, anyone would think they're TRYING to bad name them. pfft

 that poor piggy on no.8. :ban:
now they say that sows are more friendly and sociable. i've just seen a link below to text to read Top 8 Common Pet-Owner Mistakes
I know the 1st one without even reading it...looking at this website. that's over, me not reply anymore, or i will turn purple next

Guinea Pigs are quiet compared to hamsters and chinchillas apparently. The writer has obviously never owned any!

Website still there - I am a novice as my boys are the first guinea pigs I've ever had, but the months and tons or research I carried out and the money I've spent on my shed and set up is an eye opener - and I'm still not finished. More work too than my cats ever required, but the best decision I have ever taken as I love these wee guys to bits already.

The best advice I personally can recommend for anyone new to GPs, like me, is to research, research and do more research and use this forum as the big master instruction manual. :)

For anyone who can't commit to their needs there are great battery operated guinea pigs you can buy that can be chucked in a toybox when done with. lol ;)

Two things -guinea pigs more or less look after themselves and they are an inexpensive pet
