Reading that was freaking awful. This "fact" at number 9 really irked me, "there is even a way to get a guinea pig to cuddle on demand. You simply pick one up by its shoulders and place it on your hand." Wtf. Who picks a sweet little creature up by its shoulders!

Wow just looked at this, what this site is saying is so scary, tht poor piggy in pic 8 defines having no idea how to hold a piggy

I don't think the author has ever met a guinea pig. They're the complete opposite of what they described! And poor pig being held by that boy, those legs look like they're dislocated or something :hb:. I wonder how many people actually listened to this "care" guide.

I know right! poor little piggie her arms are like disloacated! Grrrrrrr This makes me so mad! :cen: :hb:

Me too that poor piggy, what stupid person thought that was ok to use as a picture or allow the child to hold the poor piggy like that in the first place!

I was getting very cross reading those comments, my piggies don't drink that much water. Did I miss the bit about..... they may need vet treatment at some point during their life time so please be aware of this added cost!
I had to laugh at the fact all that piggies need was hay and pellets to entertain them....what a load of compleat rubbish!
I wonder how many people read that and got a piggy on this advice and ended up finding out proper care of a piggy is not as they said! Poor piggies.
Also they say you can get it a friend...no.... you should have guinea pigs in pairs or more not living on their own.....grrrrrrr

Its so funny, if you check out the other articles on that site this person seems to know ten top facts about everything - quite impressive really that she (I assume?) has spent so much time typing up articles on subjects she doesn't seem to have any experience on just to beef out a website - I applaud her for demonstrating to us all what can happen if you don't do your research, which is what she hasn't done

I had to laugh at this part:
Guinea pigs, on the other hand, tend to be quiet
Lols, they've clearly never met a piggie at veggie time! :))

ETA - Ohhhh, I'm just reading the one for Chinchillas.. It's making me so anxious to know that people might read these things & take them seriously. They claim that Chinnies can happily have free run & only need small enclosures. Ack. No. Just no.

And this:
When health problems do turn up, though, you could expect to pay about $50 for a visit.
Really? As with all exotic animals (bunnies & piggies included!), when there's something wrong, you're looking at a costly visit to the Vets! *cringe*
