Just a bit of advice/reassurance needed!

We have two lovely girlies who live indoors in a fairly large adapted cage. Over the last couple of years we've only been away a maximum of a week, so have had a neighbour pop in and feed them daily.

However, we are off for (a much needed!) two week break this month! I'm not keen on leaving them 'home alone' (even with drop ins) for that long, particularly as its been quite warm and our flat gets very hot! So we have arranged for the girls to go 'on holiday' to my partner's parents. The only thing is they will be primarily living outside for two weeks (which they never have before).

We have bought them a 'second home' of a good quality, 4ft hutch with run underneath (which we can close them off from if wet weather and also overnight) which we'll then keep for when we move and have a garden...I know a few people have said hutches with ramps aren't great, but mine have a couple in their indoor home which they motor up and down, so think should be ok! My partner's mum has had pets before and is very conscientious, so I know she will move them into their shed if it gets cold. We will take same bedding (magazorb), plenty of hay, and some familiar hidies etc.

My question is do you think they'll be ok? And has anyone else had experience of indoor guineas holidaying outside?!

At this time of the year they should be perfectly OK! Mine have survived boarding well, provided that they were protected during the night and from the worst of the heat.

My girls are boarding outdoors at the moment. :)

They were born and spent the first few weeks of their life indoors and then went into a hutch in a non insulated shed so I suppose they are halfish outdoors although they probably aren't used to the wind, rain etc. yet and they are going to go on grass for the first time at this boarding place. I would have had them indoors but plans changed unexpectedly so this was the only option and I suppose it isn't too bad for them as it's summer right now and even if the weather gets bad they would be taken indoors or put in a sheltered place.

Btw sorry if this doesn't make sense got a headache right now! :/
