Hello again, I haven't posted for a while. Since last time all furries have been moved indoors as the foxes found them and although they have now been in a month or so, the foxes are still visiting. Plus with the darker evenings, it is easier for me to keep them in!

They are in a nero 4 which I have modified and added a shelf to as I know it not big enough for 3 pigs. I really want to make this larger as their outdoor run time is also reducing due to the weather. I need to do this fairly cheaply. Can anyone suggest the best way to make their space bigger? it has to increase upwards rather than outwards due to lack of floor space. Can I add another level onto the nero 4 with grids? or should I get another indoor cage and some how fit the 2 on top of each other? Or make the whole thing out of grids?

Any suggestions appreciated as I really want to increase their space ASAP Thanks :)

Thanks Minty and Garry :)) Where is the cheapest place to buy them online? I've seen on that sticky that some are plastic and could be eaten, where is the cheapest place to get the right ones? Thanks again :)

Thank you both for your help, I've given the pigs run of the bathroom this afternoon, I just need to put them back in before DH gets in :))

Just another quick one, how many of the b&q ones (pack of 6 ) would I need to create a double storey 4x2 foot cage with roof?

Thanks again :)

when i looked at the B&Q ones i couldn't buy them online and my local store didn't have them so i had to go with the screwfix ones.

They are really good though and i have added mine to a nero 3 to make a bigger cage. I reckon you would be able to build a good size vertical cage incorporating the nero as well, but you may run out of connectors so make sure you have plenty of cable ties:)) I made a horizontal one for mine as they have a ramp phobia and just sit at the bottom with a "you must be joking...?" look on their faces:)):))

You get 24 grids in a pack & would need 40 grids to make what you want which makes 2 packs :)

Thanks Niki :)

Thanks Nittynora, I think when I've got the grids I will have a look and if I think I can manage :)) I may try and incorporate all of it and make a mansion. :))

good job! cant wait to see pictures of your creation:))

I really enjoyed making mine and keep tweaking it and improving it my husband says i never give them a chance to get used to it because it changes so often!@)@) (he exaggerates a lot!)

I took the door off the cage and put together some steps so they hop in and out, i also got 3 stacking baskets from wilkinson for £1.99, lined them with fleece and attached them to the sides with cable ties and they sleep next to each other...but down the other end of the cage is another one and a hammock for when they have a tiff and need to sulk!:)):))

Please be aware that the B & Q grids with the larger holes are not suitable for babies as they can get thier heads through. I found this out with mine!
