Have you heard of c & c housing?

Have a look at these:

this is in the US but you can buy the silver grids here in B and Q warehouse or screwfix and the correx on ebay, online etc thats what I use x

you can use extra grids as a roof in a C&C cage.

Its 8 61x61cm panels, I was going to use it as a playarea for the daytime (they go free range when the kids are in bed) but I was also wondering the same as you... I was going to do it square so I guess it would be 120x120cm

Id need to make a base for mine, must source some coroplast or lino!

I do think some of the small animal playpens advertised could make a great alternative to C&C grids. Not sure of the practicalities but I'm sure it's do-able.
