So, usually my boys played in the bathroom, but now I only have Rodney (until he finds a new friend) he doesn't want to be on his own in there, I'd like to get him an indoor run I can put in the living room.

I've been looking at those trixie things does anyone have one? My issue is I have zero storage in my flat so it needs to be very foldable & able to be tucked away. And what to put down on floor? Shower curtain & fleece?

He has an outdoor run which I store at my mums but its too bulky for indoors, I'm after something more lightweight...

?!

You could get some C&C cage grids ? plastic ones or the actual grid ones ? i have some for a run for my loan boar and they store nicely under his cage, i use a plastic table cloth under a fleece, i found that with just the table cloth piggy fur got wet when weeing and just fleece left my floor a little dirty so i went for both and it works perfectly can easily be folded away and stored (:

Hi I use a picnic blanket for my pigs inside. They're cheap to buy, about £5, fold up small and are waterproof. AS for the run I've got 2 hamster playpens that I link together, got 1 off ebay and one off a friend but you can buy them from petshops too, they contain my piggies fine and take up no space at all when they're folded away. Hope that helps x

Hello there, I use a picnic blanket and then just a plain play pen (basically C&C cage grids). Was pretty inexpensive and folds up. (: They come with stakes so you can put it in the ground outside too.

Question though: My guinea pig loves exploring and I'm afraid the play pen is getting a little old for her... is the bathroom safe/easy to clean? How did you use to do it? I would love to be able to put her in a place that's not too large where there aren't any electrical cords or things to get stuck under where she's hard to reach, and I'm sure she's up for some new exploring. (:

Thanks guys! I think I've seen the hamster thing youve mentioned it looks quite high, they're £10 on amazon maybe I'll get 2 - but I'll have a look for c£c. Where can I get that?

As for the bathroom I found it perfect I just moved out the couple of things I have on the floor (basket drawer things & toilet roll storer!) to keep it from getting chewed, thew in some toys & could even shut the door for a bit & leave them cos there is nowhere they can go. Could hear them giggling from outside ;) I just have a Lino floor do I used to put a towel down & anything that missed the towel was easily cleaned up ;)

hi there
i use a run that i bought off e bay , it was £40 , there are loads on there, just type in guinea pig run or rabbit run
it comes as cage like panels that you link together with the metal rods supplied
i have zip tied all mine together and left the end one to use with the metal rod to close it
i fold it up like a concertina effect then i have a clip that holds it together
it's easy to use & takes up minimal room when folded away

this is the link to one similar
mine also came with a net for outdoor use
i use it in the house mostly & put fleece down with a shower curtain underneath
hope this helps

also you can use as many panels as you want , if you have minimal space then you can leave out some panels
its well worth the money & my piggies love it
i attach a water bottle to it if they are outdoors on a fine day & the hay rack fits on there too!

We used to have a bulky run, but haven't got a big flat either so switched to attachable grids for our indoor play area.

The above is a large and simple layout but we try to vary it for them (making little corridors, mazes and hidey holes is quite good fun!). As mentioned the good thing about the grids is that you can make the area fit whatever space you have and store them away easily.

We use a plastic sheet on floor first, then fleece(s) on top.

Where do I buy the grids? Thanks guys ;)

I have a run like the hexagon one for outdoors I keep it at my mums, not sure I have room for it inside to store. I'll go dig it out!

Your run looks amazing, do you wash the fleeces like everyday or do they last a couple?

Ta! They don't need to be washed every time, maybe every 2 or 3 times they are used. Even then they don't get particularly dirty, so we normally just pop them in the washing machine on a quick wash.

I can't remember exactly which grids we bought but they were from Amazon, they had a couple of suppliers.

Well what fun has been had tonight! Put his outdoor run up indoors (not tackled storing it yet) & he's had a great old time! Giggling to himself & popcorning, which is lovely cos obv he's not got his brother to play with now (he died on Friday ;( ) its lovely having a happy boy!

Mite still get grids tho gonna check that out now...

x
