OK so I am completely hacked off with summer (what summer?) grrrrgrrrrIt is bucketing down here and so windy the rain is almost horizontal. My pigs are all coming inside TODAY!. My cages have arrived, so I am kitting them out now. Anyone any tips for bringing piggies in from hutches into big cages for the winter for the first time, to help them settle. Thanks. x

give them their fave veggies, and plenty of hay to hide in. will they be on fleece? maybe it'd be nice to put some old towels in for them to hide in?

maybe get some snuggle tunnels, beds from hammockyhammocks and get them some toys to play with. there isnt much difference to be honest, just make sure they have plenty of hay too!

Thanks, yes, I have used all sorts of old fleeces in the bedroom bit of their hutches, but I have got some vet bed for the cages. Will make hidey holes too. The cages are really quite high, so need to figure out how to make climbing things for them. x

The girls have got a hammocky hammock bed, so will try probably get something similar for boys. x

I'm sure they will be fine and enjoy being inside. Iggy seems a lot happier since I brought her in from the shed - she loves living next to the fridge. :)) I think they tend to be a bit nervous at first whilst they get used to all the new household noises but they soon come out of their shells.:)

I brought my girls in about 2 weeks ago and they were really nervy they have never lived inside before, mine are staying in for good though now.

They were really nervous at first, they have a nero 4 cage so i left that big hidey house which comes with it in, and they seemed to live in that most of the day or under the footstool i put in..

they are coming round slowly, they know me and my voice etc already so they know I'm the one with food! lol they have come out of their shell a bit more now and happily wander around or sit in the cage not under shelter when i go in they look up at me, so will take a few weeks to settle probably.
