Hello everyone! My guinea pig has been sick for sometime. She had blood coming out of her butt and was sqeaking when she pooped. We took her to the vet a few week ago and they said it was UTI, prescribed antibiotics. Now she has a nasty infection and her butt is swollen. I gave her a bath and cleaned her cage. Is there anything else that I can do? Also, she has black ends on her ears that are fallng off.IMG_9648.webp

that looks gross
I hope she gets better
if u have others u might want to keep her away from them

You need to take your piggy to the vet urgently. There is nothing you can do yourself at home. She needs a hands on examination and correct treatment. From the picture, She also looks to have sores on her feet.

Keeping her away form others is completely incorrect. Please do not separate her from her friends. it will cause further stress. If this were a contagious issue then any other piggies would already be exposed to it anyway, so there would be absolutely no benefit in separation.

Definitely get her to the vet asap. It sounds really serious, especially with black ends of her ears falling off. Do you have an emergency vet in your area that treats guinea pigs?

Please do come back and let us know how you get on. Hopefully she will start feeling better soon.
